Obama was the junior United States Senator from Illinois, better known
to be nominated for the position of president in the election of the

1991: Barack Obama received a Juris Doctor (JD) magma cum laude from Harvard.
1992: On October 3, 1992, Obama married Michelle Robinson, an American lawyer who worked as an adviser in the Chicago law firm for three months. From April to October 1992, Obama directed Illinois Project Vote "and bring about the registration of 150 000 of 40,000 registered African-Americans in the state. 2003: Obama became chairman of the Illinois Senate Health, the Committee on Human Services.
2004: In July 2004, Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. He has been a public address that he is talking about changing the economic and social priorities of the government. In March 2004, he won a majority of 70 percent of the vote and was elected to the Senate.
2005: In January 2005, Obama became the fifth African American Senator in U.S. history. He is the third to be popularly elected to the post. He was always one of the most powerful senators ranked by Congress. When in power, he worked for some reform to the system.
2007: On February 10, Obama announced that he would be a candidate for President of the United States.
2008: On November 5, 2008, Obama is the President-elect of the United States.
